Project goals and objectives

Extension and transformation of a school in Kenya to a "school of Hope", which already today has become a "shining lighthouse" for hundreds of children, their families and therefore for the whole local community. In detail:

Renovation / extension and furnishing of the existing Primary School (classes 1 to 8) with additional classrooms, laboratories, health center, kitchen, sanitary installation, education center, rainwater storage,...

Construction and furnishing of the complete Secondary School (classes 9 to 12). Of many topics essentially required for this: Property, Building construction for classrooms, laboratories, dining room, kitchen, sanitary installation, library, computer room, teachers room, sports center, rainwater storage and all required interior.

Construction and furnishing of further small new "lighthouse" schools (Nursery and Primary Schools) in the countryside.

Already reached goals and objectives

Renovation / extension of the existing Primary School will be finished in September 2008.

With the kick-started FOOD-Program in January 2008, when the political caused Kenya riots happened, more than 40 tons of financially supported food was provided. With this more than 3000 people could be reached and supported daily over a duration of 6 months.

This project has been selected to the final of the currently ongoing "StartSocial"-Competition (under sponsorship of the German Bundeskanzlerin Dr. Angela Merkel) for Germanys 100 best social projects.

 

  

Future goals and objectives

Germany wide support by Old Tablers Germany organization under leadership of OT 684 ST. Pauli / OT 67 Bordesholm/Neumuenster and OT 74 Hanau to achieve full financing of the education center and the Secondary School to achieve the full target installation and on top the financing of the new "Lighthouse School" in Dago - Kenya.

The targeted start of the construction of the Secondary School and the new "Lighthouse School" in Dago is first quarter 2009.
